Services for Richard E Ottenad II, 20, of 9100 Ensley Lane, Leawood, who was killed Tuesday in a 2-car accident at 95th and Linden, Prairie Village, will be at 3 pm, Thursday at the Village United Presbyterian Church. Mr. Ottenad was a lifelong resident of this area. He graduated from Shawnee Mission South High School in 1974 and was a student at Johnson County Community College. He was a life scout of Boy Scout Troop No. 84 sponsored by the Ward Parkway Presbyterian Church. Annette Lauren Parness, 63, of Gaithersburg, Maryland, died peacefully at her home on
December 19, 2019. Annette was born and raised in the Kansas City area. She graduated
from Shawnee Mission South High School in Overland Park, Kansas in 1974. She then
attended Stanford University where she graduated in three years with a bachelor’s degree in
communications. Annette continued her education with an MBA degree from the University of
Kansas and a JD degree from the University of Missouri at Kansas City.
Pursuing career opportunities, Annette moved to the Gaithersburg area in 1985. She held
positions at Covance Health, Naviscan, and Montgomery County Agricultural Center.
Annette became a mother to her two sons whom she adopted from Russia.
Annette was preceded in death by her parents, Louis and Dorothy Parness, of Overland Park,
Kansas. She is survived by her sons, Michael and Benjamin Parness of Gaithersburg,
Maryland; her sister Barbara Parness of Overland Park, Kansas; her sister and brother-in-law,
Michele (Parness) and John Simari of Plano, Texas; and her two nephews and their spouses,
Scott and Deanna Simari of Irving, Texas and Matthew and Mackenzie Simari of Seattle,
Washington.
Annette was laid to rest at Garden of Remembrance Memorial Park in Clarksburg, Maryland.
The family asks that any contributions in memory of Annette be made to the National Kidney

Sheree Wilson, a beloved daughter, mother and grandmother, passed away peacefully at her loft at the age of 60 on October 3 2016. Sheree is the daughter of the late Keith Porlier and survived by Marilyn Porlier; her children, Lauren and Dylan Wilson; and her brothers, Brad Porlier and Brent Porlier. She is also survived by her grandsons, Jensen and Brayden Wilson.
Sheree was born in Jackson, Michigan on July 16, 1956. Sheree graduated from Shawnee Mission South High School in Overland Park, KS in 1974. As an excellent artist, she attended Pittsburg State University for art and graduated in 1979. In the coming years, Sheree joined the Navy and became a cryptologist.
Sheree was a devoted mother and cared for her family immensely. A private service for family will be held at Albert G. Horton Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery. To honor Sheree, flowers, donations and condolences may be offered or sent to 7079 Kirby Crescent Norfolk, VA 23505.

On November 11, 2016, Wyatt passed away peacefully of natural causes.
Wyatt was 60 years old.
Wyatt is lovingly remembered by his sister Jan Woods of Olathe, KS,
brother Mitch (Lori) of Everett, sister Ramona Shull of Kansas City, sister
Tammy of Annandale, VA, brother Rusty (Kate) of Prairie Village, KS,
loving nieces, nephews, and other friends and family.
Wyatt Powlas was born in Kansas City on December 6, 1955. He was the
third child, and the second son, of Margaret Ann and Kenneth Harris
Powlas. He was a member of the Oneida Tribes of Wisconsin.
Wyatt graduated from Shawnee Mission South in 1974, lived in Peru,
Denver, and Salt Lake City before moving to Seattle to work for Richmark
Labels in 1989. He worked for Richmark for 27 years.
Wyatt enjoyed sports, especially baseball, as well as reading and
spending time with his family. He never met a dog that he didn't like.

Thomas Langdon Price, Jr. peacefully joined our Lord and Savior on December 25th, 2019.
Thomas was born on February 17th, 1955 in Bronx, New York to Thomas Langdon Sr. and
Frances Price. He was one of three children. Thomas played football for Shawnee Mission
South and graduated one of four All-Americans from his high school in 1974. He also attended
college at Kansas State University on a football scholarship. Thomas later went on to become
a retired airline operations representative for Delta Airlines. He had a passion for sports, the
military, animals, music, cooking and most of all his daughters. Thomas is survived by his twin
daughters: Tara Elizabeth Price and Holly Marie Price of Wichita, KS along with his sisters:
Susan Maier of St. Louis, MO and Frances Gosch of Maize, KS and by many close friends and
family who will miss him dearly.
Marianne Raley was born July 16, 1956 in Kansas City, Kansas and passed away while in
resident at Carpenter House Hospice during the early morning hours of January 19, 2016 after
a short but intense cancer diagnosis. During her childhood years, her family relocated several
times, Lincoln, NE and McLeans, VA, but ultimately, home was Overland Park, Kansas. Once
locating to Overland Park from Kansas City, KS, she attended Osage and Valley View
Elementary Schools, Nallwood Junior High, and graduated from Shawnee Mission South with
the Class of 1974. During her school years she was activity involved in musical groups and
theater productions with one of her proudest accomplishments being her participation in
Shawnee Mission South's ACappella Choir, under the direction of Dr. Don Donalson. Also,
during these years, she became a very accomplished bowler. She not only competed locally
and nationally, but passed on her talent for this sport as a youth coach at the King Louie West
and Ranchmart Bowling Lanes.
In 1976, Marianne relocated to Metairie, LA and began establishing her adult career in the
customer service profession. Her career path included tenure at companies such as Battestella
Seafood Company, Centerplate at the New Orleans Super Dome, Whitney Bank (now
Hancock) and culminating with Gulf Coast Bank and Trust Company. She continued her love of
competitive bowling at Paradise Lanes, Metairie, LA, both in league and in national
tournaments and was a member of the Krewe of Diana for a short time. Individuals that came
to know Marianne are celebrating her life with memories of her hard work, warm smile, and
caring heart.
Marianne is survived by her mother, Barbara A. Raley and her sister, Sara Jo Raley, both
currently residing in Tarpon Springs, FL, her great aunt Naomi McMillian, Overland Park, KS
and cousins residing in various states. She is preceded in death by her father, Joseph C.
Raley, Oldsmar, FL, brother, Robert G. Raley, Kansas City, KS, maternal grandparents,
Marguerite F. and William Valleau, Overland Park, KS, and paternal grandparents, William F.
and Lola F. Higbee Raley, Kansas City, KS.
Linda Rice Schwenkmeyer, 52, passed away peacefully at home in Carmel Valley on February 12, 2009, three years after being stricken with lung cancer. Linda, a University of Kansas graduate and former teacher, was a devoted mother and wife. She was a very spiritual person who was closely involved with the lives of her loved ones as well as being active in church and charity work. An avid tennis player, Linda will be remembered as someone who set and achieved high standards in everything she undertook. She is survived by her husband, Karl Schwenkmeyer, son, Derek Schwenkmeyer, daughter, Kara Schwenkmeyer, all of San Diego; mother Jonelle Reynolds and her husband Gordon Reynolds of St. George, Utah; brother Steven Rice of Baldwin, Wisconsin, and brother Michael Rice of St. George, Utah. Her memorial service will be at Solana Beach Presbyterian Church in Solana Beach on Saturday, February 28th, at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to the San Diego Breath of Hope Walk, benefiting the Lungevity Foundation. Waverly “Wave” E. Rose, II passed away on June 15, 2021. He was born on
September 26th, 1956, in Kansas City, Missouri. Wave was a free spirit and
marched to his own drummer. He was loved by his family and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother Mary Ann Rose. He leaves behind his
father Waverly E. Rose, sister Janna Boydston and her husband Bob, sister Leigh
Anne Rose, niece Melissa Maddox and her husband Casey, nephew Andrew
Lindemann and his wife Aracelli, his aunt Shirley D. Krueger and his cousins Leslie
Milby and Allyson Peters.
Wave's interests were music, biking and cooking out. All sports on TV, especially
golf tournaments. Chiefs and Royals were special to him. He was self-employed in
the painting and restoration construction arena.

James Robert Rosenberg, 20, of 5612 W 90th Terrace, Overland Park, died Sunday at Baptist Memorial Hospital. Mr. Rosenberg was born in Des Moines and lived in the Kansas City area most of his life. He graduated from Shawnee Mission South High School in 1974 and attended Tulane University and Johnson County Community College. He was a member of the congregation B’nai Jehudah. He was a member of the Jewish Community Center. He leaves his parents Mr. and Mrs. Abe Rosenberg, and a brother, Thomas N. Rosenberg, both of the home; a sister Mrs. Lynne Scroggins, Overland Park, his maternal grandmother, Mrs. Mamie Sigel, Miami Beach, Fla. and his paternal grandmother, Mrs. Elsie Rosenberg, Prairie Village. Services will be at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Louis Memorial Chapel: burial in Rose Hill Cemetery.
